Moggi backs accused Conte

Luciano Moggi has given his support to Juventus coach Antonio Conte, as he faces allegations of failing to report match-fixing.
Conte, 43, could receive a 15-month ban if he is found guilty of not alerting the authorities to a potential fix during his time in charge of Siena, allegations he denies.
Conte joined Juventus in May 2011, replacing Luigi Delneri, and led the team to a Serie A triumph in his first season in charge.
Moggi has denied the claim Conte could have been involved in the betting scandal, believing it would be out of character for the coach and former Juve player.
"I have known Antonio for 10 years," he told
Radio Kiss Kiss.
"The very thought of him fixing games is out of the question."
Moggi has criticised the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) in their handling of the scandal.
He suggests as only ex-Siena player Filippo Carobbio has accused Conte, while others have disputed the claim, the coach should not be charged.
"Giving a platform to someone who admits he fixed matches while another 13-odd team-mates say it was not true seems typical of the current federation," he said.
The judgement from the FIGC Disciplinary Commission is expected to be announced on Thursday.
Former Juventus general manager Moggi left the club in 2006 after his part in the Calciopoli scandal which saw the club stripped of two Serie A titles and relegated.
