VfL Wolfsburg have agreed the transfer of Italian international right-back Cristian Zaccardo from US Città di Palermo. The 26-year-old will have a three-year contract with the Bundesliga side.

Formerly with Bologna FC, Zaccardo has made 140 league appearances for Sicilian club Palermo, including 33 this season. He was a member of Italy's 2006 FIFA World Cup-winning squad.
